Description
These elk dog treats are handmade by me (Eliana) & and my dad. These treats include:
- Elk meat
- Bacon
- Broccoli
- Oatmeal flour
- Hot water
- A pinch of salt
- A whole lot of love 🙂
In case you’re wondering what sort of elk meat we use for these elk dog treats, here is what we do.
My dad is a hunter, so when he harvests and elk, he has me collect the organs that most people (including us) don’t eat. These organs are usually the elk heart and elk liver. Together those two organs can weigh up to 20 pounds. That’s enough meat to make a lot of batches of elk dog treats!
These dog treats are completely dried out on our dehydrator, so they should last for several weeks. You don’t need to refrigerate them. They are human edible too, so they are safe if your toddler gets them in his or her mouth. I have personally tried these elk dog treats – they taste a little strange to me, but the dogs go crazy for them!

Luna Bear Tolulah Foster loves my elk treats. Her favorite days are when I’m making them, she’s the best taste-tester ever.

These treats are a hit with my dog! Every time she hears the package being opened, she runs over quickly! Elk Bacon and Broccoli are awesome!
